The annual show of the Shetland Agricultural Society was held in the Gilbertson Park, Lerwick, on Thursday, and again proved very successful. The morning turned out bright and sunny, and it looked as if it were going to be a fine day for the event, but shortly before one o'clock rain began to fall, and it soon became so heavy as to discomfort considerably those who were engaged in judging or were moving about the show-yard for inspection of the stock. ... The exhibits were again stanced on the high ground on the upper side of the Park, the judging being done in the centre, and for a white this side was the point of attraction, but ...
With regards to the exhibits, the numbers were practically the same as last year, a few of the sections being well ahead, while others showed a slight falling off. The total entries, exclusive of those for driving and riding, were 352, as against 345 last year. The quality all over, however, may be said to have shown considerable improvement. ...
The exhibits of dogs, poultry, wool, and dairy products also attracted considerable attention. ...

Best Collie Pup (10 entries).-1 Dr. Bowie, Clousta; 2 Miss Morrison, Saundersfield; vhc Peter Manson, Veensgarth; hc John Nelson, Veensgarth; c Hugh McKay, Westerloch.-The second prize was a special presented by Mr. McLennan, Depute Procurator Fiscal of Aberdeenshire."
