1932 - Pedigree Dog Breeding title Pedigree Dog Breeding
For Pleasure Or Profit & Where To Buy A Dog
Captain Jocelyn Lucas, M.C., Simpkin, Marshall Ltd., London, GB, April, 1932 (3rd edition)

In the two pages on the Shetland Sheepdog, Robert Leighton, author of the book "Book of the Dog", writes a fitting description of the breed including information on the origin, the homeland of the Sheltie and important points of the standard; but he also gives interesting tips on the purchase, care, breeding and nutrition of the breed.
Two tricolour Sheltie puppies of the 'Larkbeare' kennel and a head study of Ch. Peabody Persica (in the large advertisement section of the book) represent the breed. In the Breeder's Directory two Shetland Sheepdog Breeders are listed: Mrs. Cartwright & Miss E. Peabody Montgomery.
The first edition of this book was published in May 1925 and the second already in November 1925. Additional chapters by breed experts and probably new advertisements were added or edited.
